The Wife of the Governor of Enugu State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, has once again demonstrated her unwavering compassion for vulnerable citizens, especially persons living with disabilities, during an emotional and heart-warming encounter held on Friday, November 28, 2025.
According to the Governor’s wife, the meeting, centered on young Enugu citizen, Master Chimobi Okonkwo left a deep imprint on her heart and strengthened her resolve to continue using her platform to uplift those who need society’s collective support the most.
In her touching statement, Mrs. Mbah shared the emotional impact of the encounter, writing:
“I had the heartfelt privilege of meeting Chimobi Okonkwo… to empower, put smiles on faces, and uplift those who need it most.”
Her words reflect the tenderness, empathy, and humanity that have become hallmarks of her engagements across the state.
Sources close to Government House said the First Lady took time to interact personally with Chimobi, listen to his needs, and reassure him of the state government’s commitment to ensuring that no one, regardless of physical condition, is left behind in Governor Peter Mbah’s development agenda.
Mrs. Mbah has over the years distinguished herself through numerous humanitarian interventions, ranging from healthcare outreaches to educational support programmes and empowerment initiatives targeted at vulnerable groups. Her meeting with Chimobi is seen as another clear expression of her belief that governance must be compassionate, people-centered, and inclusive.
Residents who witnessed the encounter described it as “deeply emotional,” noting that the Governor’s wife radiated warmth and genuine concern throughout. Many praised her dedication to advocating for people living with disabilities, calling her “a mother to all” and “a symbol of hope.”
While Enugu State continues to pursue policies that expand access to education, healthcare, and social support for every citizen, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah’s benevolent interventions continue to serve as a reminder that leadership is not only about policies—it is about humanity, empathy, and the courage to uplift others.
